Silk was actually born in Fredericton (New Brunswick), Canada. Ilkay Silk was a well-known actor, producer and director and also a professor at St. Thomas University. Her parents were Peter, a distinguished academic. Anna is a part of her earliest memories of going to rehearsals for plays. Silk produced a number of commercials when she was still in the midst of her childhood. She graduated with a Bachelors degree in Arts from St. Thomas University. Theatre St. Thomas staged at least two early plays: Seven Menus & The Kitchen. Silk was able to move out of Toronto and moved to Los Angeles in the decade immediately following 1999. Seth Cooperman met Silk at the Actors Workshop held in Los Angeles in 2007. The couple got engaged in 2009, then they were married at an official ceremony in December of that year. Following her conversion to Judaism and they renew their vows in a Jewish wedding ceremony on April 10, 2011.
