Sharni Vinson made her debut as an actor in 2001 when she played the role of a woman on Home and Away, a soap opera based in Australia. The small part she played she performed excellent that the director of casting wanted to have her play each of the roles. However, she did submit an audition for the role but she wasn't selected. Instead, during the same episode she was cast in the character of Cassie Turner, a troubled teenager who is placed in foster care.
